For import o export dangerous cargoes, which are downloaded or shipped during the operations of ships, their storage and handling, are set in the Circular C. P. (IQQ.) REGULAR No. 12600/298, September 05 2006 of Iquique Maritime Authority. Documentation required for admission of dangerous cargo in sectors of Conditioned Depot
- Must be presented by the customer or his representative (shipping agencies, customs agencies, forwarders, representatives, among others) letters of admission of dangerous cargo, indicating, in case, if it’s Conditioned Depot, Stuffed, Unstuffed, or other.
- Must submit three copies, with 24 hours before the arrival of the ship on a working day and time at Dept. of risk prevention’s office.
- Should attach to the letter, copy of B/L, documentation of the dangerous cargo in triplicate and the respective safety data sheet (MSDS) according to UMR 2245.
- Non-submission of the required documentation, implicate that the cargo or container will not be download from the ship.

Note: There is some N° ONU for conditioned cargo that due to it’s conditions cannot be under this modality. They should be considered as forced retirement. This is determined by checking the safety sheet and documentation of dangerous cargo, to verify some aspect that might affect this condition.
Definitions
- Conditioned: is defined as the process where the cargo can enter the terminal and be in the interior are stored in the authorized sector for a period of 96 hours. Counting since its admission to the sector (Maritime circular 0-32/ 011).
- Forced Retirement: Condition which presents that the cargo due to its dangerousness must exit immediately the terminal and cannot be stored.(Maritime Circular 0-32/ 011).
- Safety Data Sheet: Provides information relating to various aspects that relate to safety, health and environment protection, during transport, handling, storage and emergency, from the producer or supplier of a chemical to the receiver and user (UMR 2245 ).
