Iquique Terminal Internacional is the Concessionary Company of the Front Dockage N º 2 of the Port of Iquique, which operates since the 1st of July of 2000. Originally the concession settled down to 20 years, which was increased in 10 more years when new investments were committed.
The investment projects consisted in increasing the length of site 4 in 69 meters towards the north, which allows the landfall of ships Post Panamax of up to 300 meters of length, and also improving the infrastructure of site 3, being earthquake-resistant.
The Concession was given under a single operator type in which the dockage front is only operated by the concessionaire, best way for a better use of the sources, increasing global efficiency of the port marine system given by the terminal. Allowing better alternatives for importer and exporter clients strengthen growth of the commercial interchange.
