Brazilian business delegation visits ITI

A trade mission from Rio Grande do Sul visited Iquique terminal Interncional as part of a tour made to the Tarapaca Region. This tour aimed to realize future business throughout this area of the country.

The Brazilian delegation undertook a busy schedule of activities in Iquique. The highlight of these activities was at the terminal where the representatives could learn the operations of the port in terms of cargo traffic. On the occasion, the Management Chief, Jorge Oyarce welcomed the visitors.

Arno Gleisner, Vice President of the Federation of Trade in Goods and Services of Rio Grande do Sul State, which includes more than 500 000 entrepreneurs, said that "the port of Iquique meets extraordinary conditions: it is modern, and it possesses high technology and high quality standards in service."

During the day, employers also attended other meetings with executives from the Duty Free Zone (ZOFRI) of Iquique and ZOFRI Users Association.

Twelve Brazilian companies representing different industries composed the delegation. Some of them included textiles, footwear, chemicals, medical supplies and hospital, wood, optical, and logistics industries, as well as international studies counseling.

The Regional Director of ProChile, Ricardo Bonacic said that similarly to the Brazilian delegation, there is also interest from [representatives in] other countries to meet and initiate business with Chile. He explained that there are talks with Belarusian entrepreneurs, and other delegations of Brazil, Bolivia and northern Argentina to that purpose.
