In the region of Tarapacá there will be a significant increase in mining investment, both by the expansion of deposits that are already in operation, for the implementation of new projects. For this reason it is expected that project cargo will increase in the medium term.
The company also is studying the purchase of new equipment port. The business manager of Iquique Terminal Internacional Jorge Dumont said "we should consider incorporating other technologies that help increase the global capacity of the terminal. These investments are about $ 20 million and include tract trucks, new cranes for handling containers in the yard (RTG) and the purchase of Ship to Shore Crane (Gantry), which will double the capacity.
