The SEREMI Labor and Social Welfare, Marcos Gomez, who presides over these forums recalled that "we do this meetings three times a year in various productive sectors of the region such as Mining, Mining Subcontractors, Fisheries, Commerce, Education, Health and Port, which is raised in a report and sent to the Secretariat for Social Welfare and Social security Superintendence (SUSESO) agreements and requests with respect to improvements in occupational health and safety of different sectors. He said in particular port workers are waiting for a ruling on cargo port container operators, to be considered as continuous or heavy labour and expect to have an ambulance nearby or a polyclinic within the port area and other measures that leaders proposed.
